Quite Simply, a Fascinating Day So Far

First, I met with my adviser for my long essay consultation to give him an idea of what I wanted to research - SO the general topic I have so far is studying how characters that are children perceive death by looking at a few different works of literature.  I'm looking at working with possibly (mostly children's lit since it's from their perspective): The Curious Case of the Dog in the Night-time, Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close, Bridge to Terabithia, The Book Thief, A Little Princess, etc. I'll have to narrow it down in the next few weeks, but I'm really looking forward to it :)

I then headed over to Pret A Manger, which is a chain coffee shop that's really fantastic. Fun fact: the building that it's in used to be a brothel during the 16th century...

So whilst I was there overlooking Cornmarket Street from a top-story window, a glee club appeared out of nowhere. Naturally. They started singing their numbers, and this is the record of what went down...(Sorry the quality is so bad! I was using my iPhone.)

I want you to notice two things:

1.) The awesome Asian family in the middle.
2.) The fact that no one else is clapping, save for darkly dressed blonde girl and cheetah trench-dress (who I think are part of the choir so they don't count). You LOSE at being happy, England! How can you reject a good hand-clap invitation to a harmonized a capella "Forget You" by Cee-Lo?? That's ok, we still love you...and will smile at you for months, therefore making you awkwardly look in any direction BUT our enthusiastically crazy eyes. I'm moving to Asia where they clap to flash mobs.

Score BTdubs...After the judges reviewed the comparison of Mexican food, lack of school spirit, yet the loveliness of Blackwell's bookshop, they've decided the current score is: England: 11, USA: 7.

P.S. - Momma and Ryan are fewer time zones away from me as they visit colleges! Crazy! Pray for his decision-making process!

Miss you all! Muah :)
